Brand Spotlight Herve Leger!

Gals,

I love doing a “brand spotlight” because it may just introduce you to a designer you didn’t know or a designer you thought you’d NEVER wear.

Herve Leger is not an old, classic brand. It was created by the French designer, Herve Peugnet in the 1980’s….is that a surprise? It absolutely represents what we were all wearing back them - tight, stretchy and short.

Herve Leger is most known for the “body con” or “bandage” dress similar to the the grey dress I’m wearing below. The design and fabric was made to fit the body and flatter the body using material that “sucks you in”. If you’ve tried one on, then you know what I’m talking about!

As the years went by, the company was aquirred by BCBG Max Azria. If you all remember, BCBG and other brands were knocking off the bandage dress like CRAZY. While the dresses looked the same, the quality certainly didn’t seem as luxurious as what Herve Leger was creating. But, what a compliment to have SO many other brands copying a look - the ultimate form of flattery.

In the last several years, HL has become known for more than just the bandage dress. The fringe from last season was SO great and we are seeing it again this year. The fringe is my FAV.

The green dress I’m wearing is SO gorgeous. First of all, I love the color. If green is “your color” then you have to give this one a try. The ruching makes it feel less “body con” and more user-friendly. The short hemline is flattering because it hits in just the right place. I think with a nude or metallic shoe of some sort, it’s perfect. This could be worn in MANY seasons. I wanted to wear it at Christmas….but I couldn’t exactly cook a major meal in it :)

By the way, I love a lower neckline when my hair is down. When my hair is UP, I like a higher neckline, which is how the dress comes. You know what I did? I just switched it around - LOL. I literally turned it around while it was on my body. That gives the dress two lives!!

The grey long bandage dress is the classic Herve Leger look. That’s the body con style that the brand is known for. Some people think they can’t POSSIBLY wear this dress. I’m here to tell you that it hugs the right way in all the necessary places. Sure, you can wear your Spanx under this dress, but I’m telling you the “suck-you-in-factor” is top notch.

So, give Herve Leger a try. At least check out the WEBSITE so you can see all of the styles that are offered for Resort 2024 and Spring 2024. I think you will be VERY pleasantly surprised.

Let me know if you find something you love! I’d LOVE to hear!!!
